Terms of Service
AppSaaz Automated GST Invoice, by AppSaaz Labs · Last updated July 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of AppSaaz Automated GST Invoice ("the app",
"we", "us"), a Shopify app that generates GST-compliant tax invoices,
credit notes, debit notes, and GSTR-1/GSTR-3B return filing exports for
Indian merchants. By installing the app you agree to these terms and to
Shopify's own Merchant Terms of Service, which govern the underlying
platform.
What the app does — and does not do
The app automates the mechanical work of GST document generation and
return-export formatting based on the order, customer, and product data
your Shopify store provides, and settings you configure (GSTIN, HSN codes,
tax rates, numbering format).
This app is not a chartered accountant, tax advisor, or legal
service. It does not review your GST registration, verify your
tax positions, or file your returns with the government on your behalf.
You are responsible for reviewing the documents and exports it produces,
for the accuracy of the settings you configure, and for your own GST
compliance. When in doubt, consult a qualified tax professional before
filing.
Accounts and eligibility
You must be a Shopify merchant with a valid Shopify account to install
this app, and you're responsible for keeping your store's connection to the
app secure. You represent that any GSTIN, business name, and address you
enter in Settings are accurate and that you have the authority to configure
tax settings for the store.
Plans and billing
The app is free. There is one plan, it includes every feature,
and there is nothing to buy. We may introduce a paid tier later; if we do, we'll
update this page and notify connected merchants before anything changes.
- The Free plan is the only plan, and it is fully functional
at no charge: unlimited invoice, credit note and debit note generation,
unlimited PDF downloads, report exports (CSV/PDF/XLSX), GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B
filing exports, per-product HSN and GST rate mapping, automatic invoice
emailing, every PDF layout, packing slips and shipping labels. No
watermark, no footer, no usage limits.
- We charge nothing today and hold no payment details. If we introduce a
paid tier in future, it will be billed and managed entirely through
Shopify's own Billing API — card details would go to Shopify, never to us —
and you would have to actively choose it. Nothing becomes chargeable
automatically.
- Stores that install during our early-access period are recorded as
permanently free at the time they install. If a paid tier is introduced
later, those stores keep full access at no charge rather than losing
features they already had.
Your data
You own the data you put into the app and the documents it generates for
your store. We process it only as described in our
Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these
terms by reference. Generated invoices, credit notes, and debit notes are
retained even after uninstalling or requesting data erasure, because Indian
GST law requires merchants to keep these records for several years — see
the Privacy Policy for the full explanation.
Data processing agreement
This section forms our data processing agreement (DPA) and applies whenever
the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf.
- Roles. For your customers' personal data, you are the
data controller and we (AppSaaz Labs) act as your data processor. We process that
data only on your documented instructions — namely, to provide the app's
invoicing, credit/debit note, and GST return-export functionality — and
for no independent purpose of our own. We never sell it, and never use it
for marketing, advertising, analytics, or profiling.
- Subject matter and scope. The data processed is limited
to what's needed to generate your GST documents: customer name, email,
and shipping/billing address; customer GSTIN where provided; and order,
product, and tax details. We do not request or process customer phone
numbers or payment card data.
- Confidentiality. Access to personal data is restricted
to personnel who need it to operate or support the app, and they are bound
to keep it confidential.
- Security. We apply appropriate technical and
organizational measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at
rest, encryption of sensitive credentials, and tenant isolation so one
store's data is never exposed to another. See our
Privacy Policy and Security practices for detail.
- Sub-processors. We use a limited set of sub-processors
(currently our cloud host and, only if you enable customer emailing, our
email provider), listed in the Privacy Policy. We
remain responsible for their compliance and will give notice of material
changes to that list.
- International transfer. Data is hosted on cloud
infrastructure in the Singapore region, as disclosed in the Privacy
Policy.
- Data-subject requests and breach. We assist you in
responding to your customers' data-subject requests and to Shopify's
mandatory privacy webhooks (data request, customer redact, shop redact),
and we will notify you without undue delay after becoming aware of a
personal-data breach affecting your data.
- Deletion. On uninstall we automatically delete your
operational data as described in the Privacy Policy, except statutory tax
records (invoices, credit notes, debit notes) that Indian GST law requires
to be retained.
- Shopify terms. This DPA operates alongside Shopify's
API License and Terms of Use and the Shopify Protected Customer Data
requirements, which also govern how we access and handle this data.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the app's
source code beyond what Shopify's platform itself allows; use the app to
generate fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate tax documents; interfere with
the app's operation or attempt to bypass plan limits through technical
means; or use the app in a way that violates Shopify's Acceptable Use
Policy or applicable law.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of
any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or
non-infringement. We do not guarantee that generated documents or filing
exports are error-free, complete, or accepted by the GST portal or any tax
authority — you are responsible for verifying them before relying on them
for compliance or filing purposes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any
indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any
penalties, interest, or losses arising from inaccurate GST filings, missed
deadlines, or reliance on documents generated by the app. Our total
liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you
paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose (which is $0 on the Free
plan).
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your
Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these
terms, misuse the app, or fail to pay for a subscribed plan. On
uninstall, operational data is deleted automatically per our
Privacy Policy; statutory tax records are retained
as required by law.
Changes to these terms
We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever these terms change.
For any change that materially affects your rights or obligations, we'll
email connected merchants at their Shopify-registered account email at
least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to
conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or
data-protection rights you may have under the law of your own country.
